og:image
The picture in a shared link preview. Absent, the platform picks something from the page or shows nothing — a plain blue link where a card should be.
How the audit judges it
| Field present | good — 8.3 of 8.3 points |
| Field missing | fail — 0 of 8.3 points |
A missing value fails outright here: the page loses the whole share, because nothing downstream can substitute for it.
Worth being exact about what is and is not checked: the audit reads whether the tag exists and what URL it points at. It does not download the image, so it cannot tell you the dimensions are wrong or the file is missing. A card that stays blank with the tag present is almost always a 404, a login-gated URL, or a relative path where an absolute one is required.
